​Heart Anatomy & Positioning


1) What are the names of the four heart Valves and where are they located?

2) Pretend you are a Red Blood Cell travelling through the heart, which chambers and valves do you flow through in sequence.

3) Draw a diagram of the Heart with it's Chambers, Valves and the major Blood Vessels that arrive and depart from the heart.

1) Describe verbally where the five auscultation points are ( left sternal border between the 2 and 3 rib.....)

2) Point to the different points and where they correspond to on your body and say where it is localized out loud and repeat what valve you will hear loudest here.

LECTURE 1 - PART 3  PRESSURE   GRADIENTS  AND    NORMAL  HEART  SOUNDS

​1) What valvular actions make the S1 heart sound? What makes the S2 heart sound?

2) Why do the valves normally only open in one sense and even if subject to pressure they don't flop back on themselves?
